Pay Over Time

Aviva Peltin grew up sneaking gulps of forbidden soda and borrowing regular toothpaste from her friends because her own house was full of all things healthy. She wanted to be like the "cool kids," but now she understands the importance of research and product awareness. She learned how little consumers know about ingredients and materials and their possible negative effects on the body and the planet when she developed health issues in 2010. In an attempt to improve her health, she began looking into living a “low-tox life” (i.e., avoiding chemicals and using natural products instead) and discovered a wealth of knowledge. Peltin began thinking about writing this book while majoring in English with an emphasis in creative writing at the University of Washington in Seattle, but it soon turned into a passion project that gripped her with its urgency. She knew the value in what she discovered, and she couldn't help but want to share it with everyone else.
